Process Oriented Psychotherapy
Following the Wisdom of What’s Already Within
Process Oriented Psychotherapy, also known as Process Work, is a depth-oriented and spiritually-informed approach to therapy developed by Arnold Mindell. It weaves together elements of Jungian psychology, body-based awareness, dreamwork, Taoist philosophy, systems theory, and movement work.
This is a therapy of awareness, not technique. At its core, Process Work believes that even our most troubling experiences—whether emotional, physical, relational, or symbolic—hold the potential for insight and transformation. Symptoms aren’t just problems to solve; they’re signals from deeper parts of the self, inviting us into healing, wholeness, and change.
This approach is spiritual in nature—not in a religious sense, but in how it honours the unknown, the unseen, and the deeper unfolding of the psyche and soul. As process worker Joe Goodbread suggests, our experience is full of small, often overlooked signals that guide us toward growth. In therapy, we slow down and follow those signals, together.

In a session, this might look like:
-
Noticing a recurring sensation in the body or image in the mind
-
Exploring tension or conflict through movement or guided dialogue
-
Making space for subtle emotions, images, or intuitive impressions
-
Working with dreams, metaphors, or internal dynamics that arise naturally
You don’t have to understand or explain everything upfront. This work is experiential and led by your unfolding process. There’s no set agenda—only deep listening to what is present, even in silence or uncertainty.
Process-Oriented Psychotherapy is especially supportive for:
-
Navigating times of change, transition, or inner conflict
-
Exploring emotional patterns that feel stuck or unclear
-
Individuals drawn to inner work, creativity, or spiritual inquiry
-
Those feeling disconnected from parts of themselves, their path, or their purpose
This approach meets you exactly where you are. It welcomes the mystery, values the unseen, and trusts that within you, something already knows the way forward.
